Tortuga Travel Backpack Pro Review (V2 – 2026 Edition)

The Tortuga Backpack Pro is a finely balanced, premium-quality, travel-anywhere type of backpack that now ranks among my personal favorites. Having reviewed various Tortuga products over the years, I can say this is easily their best backpack yet. It’s also one of the few packs I consider just as suitable for, say, an easygoing city-hopping trip as for some intense adventuring (it’s actually rare for a backpack to cover both!). Admittedly, I was long one of the weirdos who liked the Lite version more — Tortuga’s superficially similar-looking but differently priced and positioned pack. Although the Lite’s materials and zippers aren’t as premium as on the Pro, I always enjoyed its simplicity and spacious main compartment. However, now that the Pro has been tweaked in several important ways, I strongly recommend it over the Lite. I’ll go deeper into comparing the different models in a moment, but first let me go through the features so you can understand its overall design.
